Lessons learned from the hacking of Ashley Madison

Ashley Madison, the dating site promoting adultery in their slogan ‘Life is short. Have an affair’, got hacked in July 2015. As the biggest public breach of sensitive personal information ever, there are many lessons to be learned in terms of data protection, hacktivism, crisis management, media handling, and pitfalls that must be avoided.
